Give Thanks
Posted: November 22nd, 2011 | Author: Youdazzle | Filed under: Give Thanks | Tags: give thanks, inspire, thankful, thanksgiving | No Comments »No doubt, 2011 has been a challenging year for many people. The national unemployment rate continues to linger around 9 percent, the number of home foreclosures rose last month, the cost of food has increased across the globe and gas prices remain high. As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, it may be hard to find a reason to be thankful. But, the truth is, you are blessed and fortunate in ways that many others are not. Here, in no particular order, are some things for which all of us here at YouDazzle are personally quite grateful – we hope it inspires you to celebrate all the great things in your life.
You can be thankful for:
• Your spouse
• Your children
• Your parents
• Your home
• Your health- being cancer-free
• The freedom to worship and follow religion as you wish
• A brain to think what you wish—even if sometimes you don’t say it
• Ten fingers
• Ten toes
• Two eyes that allow you to see the world
• The ability to communicate (albeit less than perfectly)
• The ability to start a business whenever and wherever you want, be it Paris or your living room
• The ability to read —millions still can’t
• The opportunity to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables even though you didn’t personally grow them
• The ability to choose when you want to go to bed
• To chance to see the sun rise and set
• To live in a country in which others are willing to die to protect your freedom
• Indoor plumbing
• The ability to dance (even if it’s poorly)
• The opportunity to drive in just about any direction and find a place to eat relatively quickly
• Humor, your own quirky kind.
• Shoes. Many don’t have ‘em
• Refrigeration. It wasn’t that long ago that ice was a novelty
• The opportunity to forgive other people
• The opportunity to watch children learn. And if you don’t have kids, there is no shortage of children that need people to invest into them
• The ability to speak your mind, regardless of how educated or not-so-educated your opinion may be
• The opportunity to be hopeful
• The chance to learn something new every day
• The ability to inspire others to action
• The choice to do things – ALL things – in an excellent way
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us! And, remember, you can give thanks for all that you have in your life every day. That’s our goal. Let’s live it like it’s on purpose.
Help add to our list, what are you thankful for?
